I had a great time buying my car at this place (very unusual at even high-end used car lots)! The owner (Paul) looks and talks just like Mel Gibson (Don't take that against Paul). Very refreshing and helpful guy. No hard sales and no pressure tactics.

I got a deal that was very good and I feel win-win for both sides. They have great late model cars (Mercedes, Porsches, Ferrari, BMWs, etc.). And it seemed that they only buy/sell high-end quality cars that are in exceptional condition (mine was plus many others that I test-drived). Go see them - you won't be disappointed! :-)

Last January I was spending some time on http://Cars.com looking for a replacement for my 1998 Jaguar XK8. I was looking for a newer Jag in British Green with a tan top and interior. I came across a 2007 Pearl White XK convertible with a tan top and interior (not what I was looking for, but it looked beautiful online.) To my suprise it was located in Costa Mesa.(Close to where we were staying in Newport Beach.)

I stopped in just to take a look, and a hour and a half later had traded in my old Jag and owned the newer one. Oh, I forgot to mention that the 2007 had just over 5,000 miles.

Paul Passero, the owner, took me through the exchange process. Low to no pressure, open documentation price discussions. Trade-in based on the current auction market.(Not the low ball/rip off process of most dealers.) I didn't know that a car dealership, new or used, could be more focused on my needs and desires for the right vehicle at the right price . . ., but Paul did!

CAR BUYING THE WAY IT SHOULD BE

Just bought a BMW 3series coupe and I'm lovin it so far!! At first I thought my search for a used car would be a difficult one, and one that would take a long time. After all, it's difficult to find just the right car with the features, color, miles, and everything else you want in it. I was surprised to discover that I was wrong. Newport Coast Auto was the first dealership I walked into, and I had such a great experience that I didn't have to visit any others!

For starters, the dealership has a great inventory of top-notch cars that are in excellent quality. I could spend a full day at the showroom alone... But the best part of my experience was the wonderful customer service I received from Chris, Eric, and Paul. They were all very helpful in finding me the car that fits my needs. They let me test drive the car for a good 20 minutes without even being present in it. They helped me look for financing, and provided quality after-purchase support whenever I had any additional questions about the car. They were overall very nice and personable guys. Seriously not your average car salesmen; I loved working with them.

If you want to have a smooth, stress-free, and quick car-buying experience...Newport Coast Auto is the place to go to.

I've dealt with some used car dealers in my life, from crazy and pushy to nice, but Paul and Chip and Newport Coast Auto are the best. Not only did they give me the best price on my Mini trade-in (CarMax--you can STICK IT), I walked away with a ML320...literally. I paid for the car a week after I started driving it!
They bent over backwards to find me financing, got me a great warranty, let my mechanic check the car out, AND best of all, found a great home for my much-loved Mini. For honest, down-to-earth, fun guys with a great car selection, don't go anywhere else. It's one of the best purchase experiences I've ever had!

I just got my car yesterday and I am IN LOVE with it. Dark grey BMW 3series. Paul the owner was the one that helped us pick it out and took me and my dad on the test drive. I've been shopping around for cars for awhile now trying to find the perfect one and originally I did want a white one and found one, but after meeting Paul and seeing how honesty and friendly he was compared to some other used car salesmen, they can be complete slimballs, I didn't have to thing twice about going with the grey one from Newport Coast Auto. Also, all of the other cars he had there were verrryyy coool! A ton of the matte black ones and also a white matte one! I love love love my car, and when I decide it's time for a new one, I will definitely be coming back to Paul for it!

The other path is a German-made machine on steroids.

The bad news: This car was located 1 1/2 hour South in Newport. I have O.C.D. (Orange County Dislike)
The good news: This car was located 1 1/2 hour South at Newport Cost Auto.

I thought I'd take sec to comment on Newport AUTO.

I've had quite a few experiences with Car dealers, many of which have been shady where they have tried to take advantage (A certain Huge O..C. Mercedes dealer comes to mind) But the people at Newport AUTO however, were great to work with! I will probably buy all my vehicles there for life! Paul and the gang made us feel important and most important of all, they were real!

The gorgeous inventory doesnt hurt either!

My name is William and I've been in the Military for 10 years and have bought two cars through usaa. That said I was disappointed when I tried usaa and navy fed to get a loan for a vehicle and they told me my credit history isn't long enough for the loan amount I'm looking for (25,000) with a 730 credit score. I tried a few banks and credit unions as well and still no luck. It was frustrating as my wife found the car she wanted but no financing available. She called Newport coast auto and they seemed genuine in possibly being able to help us. Next morning I drove down there from Ontario not knowing what to expect but hoping for the best. Chris and Paul were exceptional in helping me get my wife into an unbelievable 07 BMW coup, matte white under 30,000 miles. They were very fair in what they gave me for my Camry and got me financed at 5.25% on my BMW, I was blown away by the help they were able to provide and my wife loves her car. I can't wait until I buy my next vehicle from them because I know I won't have to sell my soul or live above my means to have an awsome ride that's affordable.

I bought my car from Tim and Paul at Newport Coast Auto about a year ago and the experience was really great. Tim was courteous over email and phone.

This was my first non dealer car purchase so I was a little bit hesitant about the whole transaction and process. Tim and Paul made me feel very comfortable and there was BS'ing around. If you're serious, so are they. They are just a couple of car guys that care about selling nice high quality vehicles at reasonable prices. I got my car for a good deal...definitely not a steal but certainly better than buying from the dealership where even for pre-owned (certified or not0 vehicles you are going to be paying for significant overhead. I had been research/looking for this car for some time so I had done my research before hand. The mileage was incredible and I guess it was just perfect timing. Before I bought the car, the guys identified some bumps and nicks around the car that they fixed for free upon another appointment. They were upfront with those issues which was very helpful and honest. They also included a free detailing that I could collect on at anytime (which I have yet to do).

I've waited a year to write this review to see if anything wacky happened to my car and I can safely say that it is runs great, looks great, and gets lots of attention (mostly when my wife drives it though... If I'm in the market for an upscale vehicle, I will definitely consider Newport Coast Auto. No sense in going to a dealership and paying for a new car when you can find a gently used one from here for a significant discount.

It's incredibly difficult to survive in Orange County without a car so when my car broke down, so did I! I'm a 21 year old college student with a part-time job paycheck so I didn't think I'd have a ton of options when choosing a new car but I was SO fortunate to find a beautiful 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Newport Coast Auto with only 40,000 miles on it and in top condition. Everyone who helped me and my family out was super helpful and everything was done quickly so that I drove away in my new vehicle a day after finding this treasure.

When I'm ready to buy a sweet matte black BMW I'm coming back to this place. :)

Where do I begin?..... I absolutely LOVED this place! My husband and i were looking for an all black range rover, and my husband came across an auto trader add for a all black range rover (matte).. .It was exactly what we were looking for, it was about 8 p.m when my husband called on the add and we for sure thought we weren't going to be getting the car that night because the dealerships were all closed. To our surprise Paul( the owner) answered and agreed to meet us down at his dealership after hours which was great bc we were already in the area and live a little over an hour away.... Anyway, long story short we happened to have our 3 babies with us and as soon as we got there Paul was super nice and very welcoming, he didn't care what the kids did as long as they were having fun. The most laid back (but professional) business owner i have yet to meet! He made the whole car buying experience soooo fast and easy! He even did all the car registration for us and had a car fax printed out which made it hassle free on our part! I can't wait till be buy another car....We are definitely going to be making more purchases from Newport Coast Auto!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I showed up at Newport Coast Auto in Newport Beach a few weeks ago after seeing a LR Discovery on their website. Like some of the other reviewers - the car looked better "in person" than it did on the site!! Nice. The showroom was spotless -

could hold a wedding in that place.

Ryan and Paul were awesome. We had our two little boys with us- Paul let them sit in a Ferarri - what a treat. What happend next is a longer story but to say that Paul is a SAINT is an understatement. Thanks for making us feel so welcome Paul and Ryan!

We bought the Discovery. Ryan had a few minor things repaired that we had pointed out and gave us a loaner car while it was worked on. What used car dealer gives out loaner cars?? Again over the top.

Our experience was amazing. We will send our friends and tell everyone we can to go see Ryan and Paul to buy their next car. Mine by the way will be that Ferarri.

All of these cars are a cut above. Paul the owner knows how to find and buy high quality "gently used" cars. I didn't buy-- not because of them-- the one that I test drove just wasn't quite the right fit for me.
Paul, the owner, was no pressure and worked hard to get me qualified on the financing (can be difficult these days).
It's obvious these guys care not only about carrying the best quality cars, they do a great job in making sure you get the car you want.
On a side note, Paul has developed a new type of Matte Black paint job that really sets a car apart from the crowd-- obviously performed with a high degree of craftsmanship.

Car is as advertised, no nasty surprises (so far! ha ha!) no creepy dealership sales tactics.. just went saw the car, drove it, agreed a price, and they did all the paperwork etc. Normal intelligent reasonable people to do business with. This is not your typical dealership, which is a good thing. Ryan was awesome, not pushy and very informative. As soon as we got there Ryan was selling a car and the owner told us to make ourselves at home and look around in the show room, which features some insane looking cars. The matte paint they do is amazing, I wish I could afford to matte my current car. My boyfriend was the one doing the buying, and he was there to look at a decked out 2006 Dodge Charger, which looked better in person then online. Ryan took us for a long test drive and took the time to get to know us a little. I liked that everyone that worked there was dressed casual, and made us feel so comfortable. My boyfriend ended up buying the Charger and they could not have made the whole thing easier, it was painless. They gave my boyfriend a really fair amount on his trade in also, which is always unexpected. They even had a print out of a diagnostics for the Charger which was really appreciated. I am now keeping my eye on the website for when I can afford to make a change. I also cant wait to see what they do with the Ford Mustang my boyfriend traded in. A lot of the comments with 5 stars have been filtered, so make sure to check those out also.
